U. Alexis Johnson, named by President Nixon as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, appears today before the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee for a hearing on his nomination. Johnson said he would favor admission of Red China to the United Nations if that nation did not insist on expulsion of the Republic of China.
