Stanton Griffis, former Ambassador to Spain, is shown above as he left the White House today after a conference with President Truman. Griffis said that the President "assured" him that he recognizes the "wisdom and necessity" of carrying out plans for military cases in Spain despite Mr. Truman's "feeling" about the Franco regime.
