Taking over as new Commander-in Chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is John A. Jenkins (left) of Birmingham, Alabama, who receives the gavel from outgoing senior commander Joseph J. Lombardo of Brooklyn , New York. Jenkins will be top commander of the 1,300,000 VFW members scattered in all 50 states and U.S. Territories. Installation of Jenkins into the post ended the VFW's 65th annual Convention here today.
