Financier John M. King gestures at news conference in New York Thursday at which he said he expected the financial problems of Investor Overseas Services, Ltd., will be solved in 18 months. He attributed the firms' problems to out-of-control expenses and poor management. Asked if he would become the chief officer of IOS, King replied: "There is no possible way that I will become the executive officer." IOS is a giant mutual funds sales organization that has 18 funds which are sold in 140 countries.
