1960 Press Photo Collapsing Indianapolis Speedway spectator tower. - now13890

This picture by Parke Randall of the Indianapolis News shows an aluminum spectator tower just as it hits the ground after collapsing today at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The hats of some victims are caught flying in the air. Two men were killed and 50 other persons injured.
