1968 Press Photo Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wood pay electric bill by horse 'n buggy

Mrs. Lee Wood lends her husband some assistance in writing out a check to pay their electric utility bill at the drive-in window of the Southeastern Electric Co-op in Durant, Oklahoma. Wood has steadfastly refused to buy a car but the 77-year-old Oklahoman broke down 10 years ago and bought Mrs. Wood an electric stove and refrigerator which means a buggy ride to town to pay the bill.
