1968 Press Photo Southern Cheyenne and Arapaho Indian chiefs send signals

Southern Cheyenne Chief Tall Bull, left, and Chief Wallowing Bull, of the Arapaho Tribe send smoke signals into the air from atop Lookout Mountain 15 miles west of Denver, Colorado. The smoke message called for peace and put an end to the long standing controversy over where Buffalo Bill should have been buried. The ceremony took place beside the grave of the famed Indian scout.
