The Washington Post reported in Friday's editions that Nancy Howe, above. First Lady Betty Ford's personal assistant, is under investigation by the White House in connection with reports she and her husband, James, visited the Dominican Republic last week as guests of a Korean businessman. Her husband died Thursday of a gunshot to the head. Police aid he killed himself.
