1967 Press Photo Herman, 1500-pound Hippopotamus captured - now11873

Herman, a 1500-pound hippopotamus who went AWOL from his cage last Saturday, glares at newsmen as he voluntarily returned to captivity today. He was found in a huge mud hole, about 15 miles from where he was last seen. His elephant cage-mate (background) entered the mud hole at a trainer's direction and induced Herman to leave.
