Governor Mark Hatfield of Oregon, and Senator Thruston Morton, right, of Kentucky, pose last night after they were selected to run the 1964 Republican National Convention. Neither Hatfield, 41, nor Morton, 56, has ever lost a race for a major political office. Morton was chosen as permanent chairman and Hatfield was named keynote speaker and temporary chairman.
