1972 Press Photo Terry Hatche nominated admission to USAF Academy in Colorado

Terry Hatcher, a 17-year-old Philadelphia high school senior, has been nominated by her congressman for admission to the all-male United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. She is the second woman and the first black woman to be nominated to the academy. She would also be the first of the 10 children in her family to attend college. The nomination was announced Tuesday.
