1963 Press Photo Dr. Harry Goehring, St. Cloud State science professor with bat

Dr. Harry Goehring, St. Cloud State science professor, displays a 10-year-old brown bat, as proved by the tiny band he placed on wing, right, back in 1953. Until this find Goehring said the oldest known bat hereabouts had been nine. He conducts studies here in a storm sewer, where the bats winter, estimates he has handled about 6,000 of the flying mammals.
