Charles Golston, 21, one of the four men sentenced to die tomorrow in San Quentin Prison's gas chamber, was granted a stay of execution today. U.S. District Judge William T. Sweigert granted the stay "until further order of the court." The judge said he wanted to determine whether Golston "had a fair and full hearing and trial within the meaning of the constitution." Golston had been sentenced to die for the slaying of a 79-year-old woman in Los Angeles.
