1962 Press Photo Cyril Francis James Hankinson, editor of Debrett's, with book

Cyril Francis James Hankinson, 66, editor of Debrett's, a dictionary of title folk in the United Kingdom, holds a copy of first edition of the book, printed in 1784, in his London office. On the desk is the 1961 edition, a 7 1/2 pound edition that cost $35. Hankinson, who possesses no title himself, has been editor of Debrett's for 26 of the 40 years he has spent in the office. He plans to retire at the end of April.
