Actor Jack Hawkins plays part of a British Ambassador during shooting of the film "The Great Catherine" yesterday at Shepperton Studios near London. A year ago his larynx was removed because of cancer and now he speaks with the muscles of his throat. The 56-year-old Britisher says he considers himself a very lucky man because the cancer was caught before it spread.

Photo is dated 1967.

Photo measures 8 x 9.5 inches.
