Lt. General Lewis B. Hershey, Director of the Selective Service System, talks about politics and the draft during an exclusive interview with Walter R. Meads of The Associated Press. Hershey, 72, had headed the organization for 25 years. He said he sees some congressional electioneering behind Capitol Hill demands for an investigation of how Selective Service is doing its job of picking young Americans for military service.
