1966 Press Photo Lt. Gen. Hershey, Selective Service, at National Press Club

Lt. General Louis B. Hershey, Director of the Selective Service, told a National Press Club audience Wednesday in Washington, D.C., that he is against a proposal to substitute an all-professional volunteer army for the draft. He also attacked those critics who believe the present student deferment policies are unfair and add to the uncertainty of life.
