Feeling a mother's relief at the successful Gemini 5 launching which put astronaut L. Gordon Cooper and Charles Conrad, Jr. into orbit, Mrs. Hattie Cooper, left, and Mrs. Orena Herd, Cooper's 84-year-old grandmother leave Mrs. Cooper's home to chat with newsmen. "I'm just so thankful to the good Lord," Mrs. Cooper said.
