Associated Press correspondent Michael Goldsmith is escorted by Indonesian and Canadian United Nations troops from the Memling hotel in Leopoldville, Congo, today. Goldsmith was taken under UN protection after Congolese soldiers tried to break into his hotel room. They said they were carrying out the orders of Colonel Joseph Mobutu, Congolese army chief. Nobutu later changed his mind and allowed Goldsmith to remain in the Congo.
