Vice President Joao Goulart, left, who is slated to take office as Brazil's figurehead president, is welcomed by Mauro Borges Teixeira, Governor of Goias State, in Brasilia last night. Teixeira supported Goulart during the recent crisis. Goulart arrived in the Brazilian capital to begin talks with a wide range of political leaders to organize a new government.
