Harold S. Geneen, chairman and president of International Telephone and Telegraph Corp. (ITT), spoke here today before a meeting of the stockholders. Geneen told the group that the firm will contest recent actions of the U.S. Justice Department challenging ITT's merger with Hartford Fire Insurance Co. and the Canteen Corp. He said "we will resist any attempt to deprive us of our proper rights."
