1976 Press Photo Guatemalan boy carries bowl of flour amidst earthquake rubble

The American Red Cross released this photograph Tuesday in Washington showing a youngster in the earthquake damaged town of Chimaltenango, near Guatemala City carrying a bowl of flour. The disaster which struck last week killed over 17,000 and left an estimated one million persons homeless.

Photo is dated 1976.
