Description
Bob Hall knew he would be dead in a matter of seconds. Screaming and kicking, he was falling from an airplane at more than 100 feet per second, his main and reserve parachutes strung out in tangled ribbons above him. The 19-year-old student sky-diver slammed into the runway at 60, possibly 80 miles an hour, authorities said. But a few seconds later, he rose to a crouch. His nose was pulverized against both cheeks and his front teeth poked through his lips. He suffered no other injuries.

Photo is dated 1972.

Photo measures 8 x 9.75 inches.
