1962 Press Photo Lutheran Church of America President, Rev. Franklin Clark Fry

The Reverend Dr. Franklin Clark Fry, 61, of New Rochelle, New York (above) was elected President of the new Lutheran Church of America yesterday in a ceremony at Detroit. Dr. Fry had long headed the United Lutheran Church, biggest of the four groups merging to create the new denomination.
