Rioting French farmers do battle against police using staves, paving stones and bottles in Quimper near Brest Monday. Violence flared in various parts of France as farmers staged nation-wide demonstrations against falling prices and rising costs. Farmers in Quimper braved tear gas to raid both the police station and Gaullist party headquarters. Officials reported 114 persons injured in Quimper.
