1966 Press Photo Brian Lee who sprouted freckles from the sun gazes at pumpkin

Betcha I got more freckles than you, says Brian Lee, a third grader at Erwin School in Birmingham, Alabama, as he holds onto a pumpkin near his home today. The freckles sprouted when Brian was exposed to the summer sun. Now, with summer waning, he's apparently looking forward to Thanksgiving --and less freckles.
