Howard Goldberg, above, is the originator of a non-profit club known as "Adventure of a Shoestring" which has some 1,400 New York metropolitan area residents as members. Goldberg conducts the members on New York tours which might include inspection of a brewery, an opera dress rehearsal, and evening in the apartment of a playwright or a nuclear scientist or visiting a hospitality center in Manhattan's Bowery.
