Mrs. Marjorie L. French, Topeka, Kansas high school mathematics teacher, has been named National Teacher of the Year for 1962. The award is made by the U.S. Office of Education, the Council of Chief State School Officers and Look Magazine and will be presented to Mrs. French by President Kennedy on May 14. Mrs. French, selected from more than one million elementary and high school teachers, has taught in Kansas for 23 years.
