Ex-convict Charles Fitzgerald, 85, talked to newsmen outside Folsom State Prison Friday when he was released on parole after spending 45 years behind in institutions maximum security walls. He plans to live temporarily at the Sacramento Seventh Step Foundation, a self-help organization for ex-convicts. "Old Fitz" had been sentenced to life imprisonment during the prohibition days for the murder of a police officer.
