1969 Press Photo C.M. Ferrell, county ranger of Nashville, Tennessee - now01709

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
C.M. Ferrell, country ranger at Nashville, serves only one function. He satisfies the state constitution, which says all counties must have a ranger to round up stray livestock. In six years, his only chore has been to tell a man to keep his chickens up. But he's also a member of the county court, which does little except name the county ranger, and mayor of Lakewood because two other members of the commission quit.

Photo is dated 1969.

Photo measures 8 x 10.5 inches.
