1960 Press Photo Sunny Jim Fitzsimmons receives plaque from press photographers

Sunny Jim Fitzsimmons, dean of American race horse trainers was honored tonight in New York as one of the two most cooperative figures in sports during the past 50 years. The honor was bestowed at a dinner by the New York Press Photographers Association in New York. Mr. Fitz could not attend and received the plaque at Hialeah Park from Mike Ackerman, a member of the association and president of the Florida Turf Photographers Association.
