The worst of more than 200 fires set by lightning in central north Idaho Sunday night was a 2,500 acre holocaust two mile southwest of Peck. It "blew up" Monday reaching 2,500 acres. It had been estimated at 1,000 acres Sunday night. Several homes had been threatened by the fire until winds shifted to the south. It was in the path of this blaze that four firefighters were thought to have been missing Monday. They later turned up safe.
