An Egyptian woman casts her vote in a Cairo suburb Wednesday in a three-state referendum called to approve the union of Egypt, Libya and Syria in a confederation of Arab Republics. The results of the referendum, which is expected to approve the union, will be announced at noon Thursday simultaneously by the leaders of the three countries.
