1970 Press Photo State Auditor Etherton found in contempt of Appellate Court

Indiana State Auditor Trudy S. Etherton was found in contempt of the Indiana Appellate Court Thursday for refusing to obey a court order to pay the Indianapolis Department of Transportation $12.7 million. Mrs. Etherton was ordered jailed and was accompanied from the courtroom by a policeman. A county judge later ordered her released.
