A dejected Holt Etheridge , Abbbeville, Route 2 poses in his 15-acre field of peanuts, devastated this week by two whirlwinds which converged in his field, lifted the newly harvested vines from neat drying rows, shook off most of the nuts and left the vines piled high, many of them in the treetops (background). At least two-thirds of the field was ruined, Etheridge said.
