1966 Press Photo Clash between students & troops in Guayaquil, Ecuador

Clashes between students and troops such as this in Guayaquil, Ecuador's second largest city, yesterday preceded today's disbandment of the nation's ruling junta and taking over by the military high command which said power will be turned over to a civilian head of a provisional government. At least seven persons have been killed in student demonstrations against the junta, which ruled Ecuador since 1963, since violence broke out last Friday.
