Suddenly, wind-blown gravel or sand, as if, fired from a slingshot, pelts the car. The Slidell Police Department wants this to stop. -- Hugh Hemphill, 64, is passed by an 18-wheel gravel truck as he looks for cans on Pontchartrain Drive in Slidell.
