Sailing students of the Offshore Sailing School on a boat --- Want to see the world? Join the Colgate navy. The Colgate navy sails in an armada of boats through the Greek Islands, along the French Mediterranean, among the British Virgin Islands, to the Bahamas, the San Juan Islands of the northwest, and in dead of summer, along the coast of Maine. The floating tourists are themselves the captain and crew. Commodore Steve Colgate, an old young salt and former Olympic racer, steers the lead boat and worries about navigation. His flagship is followed by tyro sailors manning the four or five boats in the pack. --- Land-lubbers learn everything including how to splice the main brace at Offshore Sailing School. This crew of tyros gets pointers at South Seas Plantation on Captiva Island, Florida, one of the several locations where active vacationers learn how to handle a sailboat.
