A hopeful local performer takes his turn before a group of directors and producers who were at the Contemporary Arts Center in search of performers for the Opryland USA summer show in the Nashville entertainment park. Only about seven of the more than 45 who tried out were successful enough to get a callback. All 45 were lured to the CAC by dreams of semi-stardom, a chance to go to Nashville for the summer to perform at Opryland, to be seen on stage and maybe discovered, to make $183 a week.
