George Meany, slated to be named first President of the combined A.F.L. and C.I.O., appears on CBS Television's "Face the Nation" Sunday, December 11, shortly after the labor organization's unity convention in New York (CBS Television, 4:00-4:30 pm, EST); CBS Radio, 10:05-10:30 pm, EST). Mr. Meany, President of the A.F.L. since 1952, predicts American labor, once united, can achieve its destiny by setting in motion "a new tide of economic, social and political trends."
