1971 Press Photo Sculptor Adrian Maschek with his metal piece, The Prayer.

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
He must be some kind of nut. Actually, the figure rendered in "The Prayer" does have a nut for a head. A steel one, that is. "The Prayer" is one of the many pieces of metal sculpture which Adrian Maschek has completed in the last five years. Maschek explains how his first piece came about : "I wanted to give my sister-in-law something for her business (she practices "chemo-surgery" or facial rejuvination). So I put some tubing, welding rods and ball bearings together and depicted her working on a patient."

Photo is dated 1971.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
