Playgirl magazine, which splashes male nudity across its slick pages, has achieved a guaranteed circulation of 1,700,000 in little more than a year. "I don't think we would have succeeded without male nudes," said Marin Scott Milam, Playgirl's 38-year-old editor. "We wouldn't have had the publicity and attention we got. I think it's the healthiest thing we could have done. Women can look at these pictures, say how marvelous the bodies are, and get on with something else."
