1980 Press Photo The Komenka Ethnic Dance Ensemble at New Orleans Art Festival

The Komenka Ethnic Dance Ensemble, shown above in some Appalachian Mountain clogging, will audition for singers and dancers January 14 at the Contemporary Arts Center, 900 Camp. Singers will audition from 7 to 7:45 p.m., dancers from 8 to 9:30 p.m. It is not necessary to audition in both areas. In addition to Appalachian folk material, Komenka has suites from Hungary, Poland and Russia in its repertoire. Additional information may be obtained from music director Hazel Schlueter, 891-4563.
