John Lair will receive a Colonel's commission in the Kentucky Militia from Governor Lawrence W. Wetherbee of Kentucky who will appear on the premiere broadcast of Renfro Valley Sunday Morning Gathering. The commission is being awarded in recognition of services rendered by John Lair and the Renfro Valley Folks in the promulgation of the Day of Prayer proclaimed by the Governor recently throughout the state. The Governor will also welcome listeners on the new and extended network to share in the famed and proverbial Kentucky hospitality as it emanates from Renfro Valley in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Other programs of which Mr. Lair is writer and master of ceremonies are Renfro Valley Country Store and the Renfro Valley Barn Dance.
