The New Orleans public school system got an unsolicited unqualified boost today from a southern educator currently acting as field representative of the President's committee for the recent White House conference education. W. A. Shannon, on leave from his job as superintendent, of schools in Morristown. Tennessee viewed the progress and capabilities of the public schools here as "remarkable" because of the unique problem" existing here. He is in New Orleans to take part in discussion on the recommendations of the conference.
