The field of timed release medication is promising and relatively unexplored branch of modern pharmacy, Dr. Stuart Eriksen, professor of pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin, said in New Orleans Saturday. Opening lecturer of the 20th annual seminar of the Loyola University College of Pharmacy, Dr. Eriksen pointed out that several stages in the body's digestion and assimilation of timed release medication have not been exploited by currently used drug products.
