Tired, But Satisfied, Legislators Applaud at Session End. Ann de Villier of Riverdale feels a sense of accomplishment as she and other House members laud a fellow legislator's award as the weekend came to a conclusion. Youth in Legislature; sound rather stuffy? Not at all. It was a delightful, inspiring and challenging experience for high school students who attended the three day session held recently in the state Capitol in Baton Rouge. This was the sixth annual Youth Legislature Conference sponsored by Young Men's Christian Association. Three hundred Hi-Y and Tri-Hi-Y club members attended to create a replica of the Louisiana Legislature. Each student had been selected previously to come as one of four types of delegates; Senator, Representative, Alternate or Press Delegate. At the end of the session, a governor was elected to preside over next year's Legislature.
