Getting together before a motor parade on Canal street Monday are principals in a campaign to promote light as a weapon in New Orleans neighborhoods. They are (from left) Mrs. Gertrude Gardner, assistant chairman; Major August C. Lang, representing the New Orleans Police Department, and Mrs. Mary G. Pumilia, chairman of the project. The local chapter of the Women's Council, National Association of Real Estate Boards is sponsoring the campaign to keep the public aware of the importance of light in deterring many crimes.
