1969 Press Photo Representative Mendel Rivers to begin military hardware talks

United States Representative L. Mendel Rivers, D-SC, and his "right-handed man" on the House Armed Services Committee, Representative F. Edward Hebert of New Orleans, were to begin talks on "the abundant obsolescence of every area of our military hardware" today. Committee chairman Rivers said the discussions at Hebert's home today will include many subjects.
