Vincent Sala, outgoing president of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association, said today the main problem of the common carrier in Louisiana is he gets stuck with a lot of small shipments. The unregulated contract carriers, who cab slash their rates, run with 90 per cent of shipments over 1,000 pounds, which is the "cream" of the hauling business, he said.
